General Description
of the Business
Santa Fe School of Weaving is the only business of its kind in Santa Fe
and northern New Mexico. Providing instruction in basic and advanced weaving
techniques with an emphasis on design quality. Important components of
the business are sales of high quality looms and accessories, including
an exclusive dealership of Leclerc products for northern New Mexico. A
wide array of yarns and literature, as well as an excellent reputation
has mde the school into a very successfull business. Students from all
over the country and abroad attend week long intensives during the summer,
whereas the focus of fall, winter and spring is on six week sessions and
special workshops to provide for the creative needs of New Mexico residents.
Currently housed at the existing location is Miriam's Well, which is home
to a knitting shop and works of New Mexico craftspeople. Neither Miriam's
Well nor the current location is included in the sale.
Projections
The projected growth for the current year (2003) is over thirty percent.
The school is bursting at the seams at the current location of 645 square
feet. All classes are filled with minimal advertising. The 2004 projection
is based on doubling the current class schedule and adding classes in
spinning, tapestry weaving, and related fiber arts, followed by a corresponding
increase in sales of looms and accessories. This is accomplished by moving
the school to a larger space. Several suitable locations of between 1200-1400
sq. feet with easy access and ample parking where found to be readily
available at rents consistent with profitable operation in suitable locales.
Accomplished instructors are available locally for the expansion of classes
and subject offerings.
Terms and Conditions
The school is for sale "as is", which in addition to the business
itself includes: The name, logo, website and domain name, as well as all

location. However, the school must relocate from its current location.
Also included is the Leclarc dealership, which currently constitutes approximately
thirty percent of the gross income. A negotiable condition of sale is
the gradual transfer of this dealership. An exclusivity agreement pertaining
to the business is included in the sale. Sale and purchase agreements
follow standard procedures in two phases. Details are available upon request.
